Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle moved out of the UK at the end of 2019 following incessant pressure and attention from the tabloids. At first, the couple settled in Canada where the Duchess had previously lived.

Following the move, the Duke and Duchess announced that they would be stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family. Their intention was to continue serving the monarchy from abroad but, as we now know in 2023, this didn’t happen. The couple are now living in California with their two children away from the Royal Family.
Even though it is not uncommon for family members to live on separate continents it appears that for Prince Harry the distance, among many other things, also means that ties have been cut.
Prince Harry’s uncle hints at recent visit
Hello! reported on Earl Charles Spencer’s tweet. Princess Diana’s brother wished all celebrating the holiday a great day. His tweet read:
Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans - from Manhattan to Malibu (both of which I’ve visited in the past few weeks). 🦃
Without overstepping our understanding of the tweet, it is fair to assume that Prince Harry’s uncle has been in touch. Indeed, those two cities are heavily connected to the Sussexes.
We aren’t the only ones who are making the assumption. Some answers to his tweet say:
Hope you had some time in Montecito.
I hope you were able to spend time with your loved ones in California, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.
Prince Harry’s relationship with Earl Spencer
According to Hello!,Prince Harry ‘has maintained a warm relationship with his maternal kin’. The publication also reminisces about what Prince Harry shared in Spare. They report on the day Prince Harry took Meghan Markle to visit his mother’s gravesite.
Princess Diana is buried on her childhood property’s grounds, Althorp. The property includes a lake with an island and it’s on said island that the Princess lies. Prince Harry talks about the day like this:
Uncle Charles came down to the water's edge, gave us a little shove. We waved to him, and to my two aunts. Bye. See you in a bit,
Moreover, while the Royal Family likes to keep mute on the matter of Prince Harry, Hello! points out that when Meghan Markle shared that she had suffered a miscarriage, Earl Spencer expressed his support publicly on Lorraine.
