Royal Family cannot wish Prince Harry publicly on his birthday, here’s why
Despite their differences, late Queen Elizabeth II wished her grandson on his birthday publicly until before her death. The circumstances last year prevented the family and the Duke from celebrating his birthday (Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, 2022).
While things are still estranged between Prince Harry and the British Royal Family, there have been instances where the two seemed to be getting closer. However, the Royal Family has failed to wish Prince Harry publicly and they have good reason.
According to Hello! Magazine, the Royal Family recently confirmed that they will no longer be sending public birthday wishes to those who are not senior working members of the royal family. Meaning, Prince Harry can say goodbye to public acknowledgement of his birthday from his family. The Royal Family’s official social media accounts have only wished the Prince and Princess of Wales and Princess Anne on their birthdays this year.

How is Prince Harry celebrating his birthday?
The Duke - who is currently attending day 7 of the Invictus Games with his wife - was met with a surprising gesture by the competitors and spectators at the event. Everyone present at the sitting volleyball game between Poland and Germany serenaded Harry with a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday.’
Meghan Markle couldn’t stop smiling and sang along the stadium to wish her husband. The Prince is expected to continue the celebration throughout the day with a private lunch with Meghan and a video call with his kids who are left back in Montecito.
