Medical training or mercenary?
However, The Maltese police challenged his claim of delivering ‘medical training.’ The security officials stopped Prince Harry’s pal on suspicion that he was working as a mercenary in war-torn Libya.
Considering the stats of Libya, The Foreign Office has advised UK citizens against any travel there, including restriction of British business in the country. MailOnline confirmed that Jack Mann was stopped moments before he was supposed to board a private jet bound for North Africa. An unnamed Maltese source claimed:
On December 10 they were prevented from boarding a private jet on suspicion they were mercenaries. The aircrew suspected their claim to be travelling to Libya to offer medical training was false.
However, according to Jack Mann, ‘the issue was resolved within five days’ and even the United Nations ‘confirmed there was no breach of sanctions.’ The Maltese source added:
The paperwork from the Libyans was badly worded. It made it appear they were going to breach the rules. We subsequently established this was not the case and the documents were misleading.
