Spare - Prince Harry's memoir to order now
While Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been keen to tell their side of the story and explain the reasons for stepping down from their Royal duties within the British monarchy in a much-publicised documentary, the Sussexes are not planning to stop there. A few months ago it was announced that Prince Harry, fifth in line to the British throne, would be publishing a memoir.
After the title and cover, it's now time for the shocking extracts to be revealed. He recounts a violent fight that broke out between him and Prince William but also reveals family conflicts, the workings of the institution, and his years of suffering following the death of his mother.
And the good news is that you can already order it! Major retailers have slashed the price of Prince Harry's memoir, entitled Spare, which has an RRP of £28.
On Amazon, Harry's book is half-price and is already number four in sales even though it is not yet officially released: its release date is scheduled for 10 January 2023. You can also pre-order your copy for £14 from Waterstones or WHSmith.
Duke of Sussex: a troubled Prince
Prince Harry's life has not been easy, to say the least, and no doubt his memoirs will be packed with material at the age of 38.
After a childhood in the spotlight and paparazzi flashbulbs at Kensington Palace, the Prince had to deal with the death of his mother Lady Diana on 31 August 1997 in a car crash in Paris. At the age of just 12, the young Royal mourned with dignity by walking behind Diana's coffin at the state funeral dedicated to her.
Since then, Prince Harry has grown up. After studying at Eton College, he chose to join the British Army and served in Afghanistan. Like his mother before him, the Duke is involved in several charities and is behind the organisation of the Invictus Games.
On 19 May 2018, Britain celebrated with great fanfare the union of Harry and Meghan Markle, an American actress. The couple first welcomed a son, Archie born on 6 May 2019 and then a daughter, Lilibet, on 4 June 2021 in the US.
After going into exile in Canada, it is finally in Meghan's homeland that the couple has decided to settle in 2020. The move follows their desire to become financially independent and then to retire from all Royal duties within the British Monarchy. A move that was dubbed, at the time, the 'Megxit'.
Since then, Prince Harry has made only rare appearances in the United Kingdom, notably at the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, in 2021, then that of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, and at the Platinum Jubilee a few months earlier.
Currently promoting the publication of his book, he will give several interviews on American and British television. This is an exercise that his mother also did. The least we can say is that we can't wait to find out what Prince Harry has to say about the most famous family in the world, at the heart of a story worthy of a Netflix series!
