The Wales children aren’t short of cousins who are of similar ages, indeed, they have 13 cousins combining both sides of the family, which makes for plenty of fun play dates. However, among those 13 cousins, the Wales children don’t have much of a relationship with two of them, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - Prince Harry and Meghan’s children.
The fact that the Prince and Princess of Wales do not have a relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan, mean that they also have been distant from their niece and nephew, who live across the ocean. A move that heavily impacts their children as well.
Prince William and Princess Kate's alleged agreement
As many know, the feud between Prince William and Prince Harry has been ongoing for years, according to some, it began when they were children. It is believed that the rift between the brothers deepened following the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, which reportedly made the Duke millions.
As a result of the feud between the Wales family and the Sussex family, the children on either side haven’t had the chance to bond as most cousins would. When Prince Harry was visiting the country in May, it was suggested that Prince William and Princess Kate made an agreement to not see the royal and instead focus on 'positivity and recovery'. This decision has led to many speculating that the pair do not want a relationship with the Sussexes.
Royal correspondent Cameron Walker spoke with GB News, that William and Kate have ‘very, very limited’ with Harry and Meghan.
William and Catherine, on the other hand - as we understand it, there is very, very limited, contact between William and his brother Harry.
Moreover, GB News’s royal editor Svar Nanan-Sen added that Prince William and Princess Kate ‘don't have any relationship‘ with their niece and nephew, and they have only met Lilibet once, back in 2022 when the Sussex family attended Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Both royal commentators go on to add that the feud is creating a generational rift between all the younger cousins.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud creates a generational rift
As mentioned above, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have 13 cousins in total on both sides of their family. As per Hello!, they have three cousins from their aunt Pippa Middleton - Princess Kate’s sister - Arthur, Grace and Rose.
On the royal side, they have two cousins from Prince Harry and Meghan, Archie and Lilibet, two cousins from Peter Phillips, Savannah and Isla, three cousins from Zara Tindall, Mia, Lena and Lucas, two cousins from Princess Eugenie, August and Ernest and one cousin from Princess Beatrice, Sienna. Lady Louise and James, Earl of Wessex are also the Wales’s cousins, but they are slightly older.
According to GB News’s royal editor, Svar Nanan-Sen, As Prince William and Princess Kate don’t have a relationship with Archie and Lilibet, their children don't either, therefore, the rift between the brothers is ‘crossing generations’.
So this feud between Harry and William and Kate and Meghan is creating a rift down the entire family that is crossing generations.
Cameron Walker added that the rift between cousins is quite sad as the older generation - Prince William’s generation - are all really close and often support one another in times of need.
That's really sad because what's lovely about Prince William's generation is the beautiful bond that he has with his cousins.
