Prince William and Kate face harsh comments
Many took to Twitter to express their opinions on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ conference, some to point out the hypocrisy of it. Indeed so mentioned that the Royals have no right to talk about green energy solutions when they have private planes and helicopters and also drive SUVs that run on petrol:
One user wrote on Prince William and Kate's Twitter post:
flying on your private jet to discuss green energy for the peasants hits different
While another wrote:
To what ends? Did you decide to stop flying in private helicopters, chartered aeroplanes, special trains and petrol-driven SUVs? Did you decide to ask the Commissioners to rewild the Royal Estate? Did you decide to end your lifestyle of conspicuous consumption? If not, why not?
Others have questioned how the Royals are qualified to talk about these kinds of issues. One user wrote:
Her weave is looking better. Maybe solutions for green energy should be discussed with leading (Scientists and experts) instead of big business and Barbie Dolls!
Discussing? To what effect? With what knowledge or authority? None none and none.
While another accused the move of being 'nothing but talk'. They said:
Lots of talk, nothing but talk - all talk.

Direct comments to Kate Middleton
Internet users also decided to scrutinise Princess Kate for her outfit choice and more. Many pointed out that it was bizarre that Princess Kate decided to wear a green suit to discuss green energy and that it was likely the only contribution she could bring to the discussion:
Working on green energy solutions. So she wears green. That’s all she has to offer.
Good initiative but what would be kate & Willie's contribution to yhe event apart from kate wearing green

Prince William and Kate still received positive comments
Despite all the harsh comments, many also supported the Royal visit. Many focused on the fact that it was the younger Royals taking the spotlight, both for the British and Norwegian Royal Families. One user wrote:
I love how the younger European royals get together and have the opportunity to discuss how things are working for them in their countries. It must be wonderful to have peers to compare notes with, I would imagine it can be a lonely road sometimes.
While another added:
It’s lovely Their Royal Highnesses were able to get together and discuss important issues
How lovely to see these wonderful royals together! Can't wait to know what other events they have planned together.
