Indeed, Prince George has had a little summer job in the past. In fact, the way that William and Kate are raising their children is allegedly a source of tension with King Charles.

Prince George can choose his own path
According to a friend of Prince William, young Prince George will be allowed to choose whatever career he would like to pursue before going into full-time royal duties.
The unnamed friend explains that Prince George won’t have to go through military training like most members of the family do.
In theory, there is nothing to stop George from pursuing a career as an astronaut, for example, if that's what he wants, and then becoming King later.
They then added that the times are changing for the Royal Family:

A big change for the Royal Family
If Prince George is allowed to forgo military training, it would be a shock since the monarch is the Commander-in-chief of Britain’s forces, as explained by Daily Mail.
Almost all of Prince George’s relatives have been through military training, from his father, Prince William, to his great-aunt, Princess Anne. Historian Dominic Sandbrook told Daily Mail:
The tradition of royals joining the Armed Forces, even for brief periods, lends crucial legitimacy to the monarchy.
Prince George’s great-uncle, Prince Edward was one of the only members of the Royal Family to not complete his military training, forcing Queen Elizabeth to pay for him to quit.
