A third secret home of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been revealed, and it was kept so hidden that just a few images of it exist. Since the birth of Prince Louis in 2018, the Cambridges have made their home at Kensington Palace in west London, where they have spent the majority of their time.

The royal couple also has a country property in Norfolk, Anmer Hall, where Prince George and Princess Charlotte were raised. However, they have a more remote third secret home which was given to Prince William by his great-grandmother, The Queen Mother as a gift.
Secret Cottage
This touching gift is the couple's third residence. It is a three-bedroom cottage on the 50,000-acre Balmoral Estate in Scotland and has been kept so private that just a few photos exist. The cottage is called Tam-Na-Ghar cottage and has belonged to Prince William since 2002. The cottage provides a secret hideaway for the family when they visit The Queen's Balmoral estate.
Reportedly, William and Kate have been visiting it since they were undergraduates at St. Andrew's University. The cottage is believed to have been a place that holds several good memories of the couple since they began dating. When the Cambridges visit Balmoral Estate, which contains 150 buildings in total, they frequently stay at the cottage. Katie Nicholl, a royal novelist, believes that the approach to family vacations will be full of outdoor activities, but for the time being, closer to home.
Much needed transformation
Kate and William have been visiting their home in Anmer Hall during the summer and relaxing there. Although in the past they have been to more exotic locations to spend summer. According to Ms Nicholl,
While in the past we’ve seen the couple enjoy more lavish holidays skiing or visiting sunnier climates, they’ve been adopting a more traditional royal approach and spending their time at royal residences in the UK instead.
The reason behind this transformation could be due to the COVID-19 travel restriction, it is not the only reason. The couple is at a very crucial point in their lives and plays a vital royal role. As such, this transformation stems from the perspective that they might be the future King and Queen. Ms Nicholl comments,
This could obviously be the result of Covid travel restrictions, but I also believe that Kate and William are transforming into the future King and Queen and therefore are adopting more traditional practices.
