Prince William and Kate Middleton are ready to move closer to the Queen and their other family members. They will soon be shifting from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage, a four-bedroom house on the Windsor estate.

A new phase of life
The Sun confirms that the move is going to be a significant step toward their new life and will be a start of a new chapter for them. The Cambridges considered moving out from their old place to the cottage on Windsor Castle so that they could be closer to their families.
Both the 96-year-old monarch and Kate’s family and siblings are closer to Windsor Castle and the couple wanted to be there for them. The move will give much-needed freedom to their children. Gary Goldsmith, Kate’s uncle confirmed:
William and Kate are going to have their hands full this summer as they move home to be nearer the Queen and settle the kids into a new school. But I think they are ready for the next chapter in their lives.
After Her Majesty’s roles were re-written due to mobility issues, the Duke and Duchess have also taken up new and more prominent engagements as royals which will be better worked out from Windsor castle.
Out of prison
As for the kids, a new home means a new school and all three of them - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – will be moving into new schools. The move will make them more visible and put them in public life, which Prince William and Kate have been preparing them for. Ingrid Seward, Royal biographer explains:
I think Wills and Kate need space to bring up their children. Kensington Palace is a glorious prison for kids – they want to be able to play football without being watched from behind the gates.
I think Windsor will be perfect for them, as they will have lots of freedom and they can all be at school together.
