A full breakfast
During his first official engagement as the Prince of Wales, Prince William chatted to some school children in Swansea.
MyLondon reports Prince William told his young listeners which classic English dish he likes to have for breakfast. Prince William said:
I do a good breakfast, sausage, bacon, and eggs.
Chain restaurant lunches
During his childhood, Prince William supposedly loved McDonald's. Darren McGrady, a former Buckingham Palace Chef, told The Mirror that Princess Diana cancelled lunch to take Prince William and Prince Harry to the popular fast-food chain.
According to the late Princess’s former butler, Prince Harry, Prince William and Princess Diana would ‘nip to McDonald’s for a Big Mac and fries’, then come home to eat it in front of the TV.
As a working royal, the prince tends to eat what the people around him manage to get for him. In 2022, on a visit to a community garden centre, the Prince of Wales revealed his eating habits to nutritionist Monique Hyland. He listed what he had eaten the day before, admitting he had consumed a 'rubbish' sandwich for lunch, followed up by a brownie and a glass of wine later.
The Prince has previously mentioned his taste for another well-known chain, Nando's. In a 2020 BBC documentary, he said: 'Everyone loves a Nando's. In fact, the policeman who's on with me again [today], he's the one who gets me the Nando's the whole time. It's his fault.'
Roast dinner
Prince William reportedly loves a good roast. Todayreported that while judging a charity cooking competition, the Prince revealed that if it's his turn to cook, he usually does roast chicken or steak. However, the Prince admitted that he wasn't the best cook
Although the Wales household doesn’t always cook, they don’t rely on a personal chef either. Sometimes, the royal couple splurge on a takeaway curry. However, the couple revealed in a BBC Radio One interview that Prince William is not a fan of spicy foods. He confessed: 'I can’t do too much spice, I start sweating. It’s not attractive.' Meanwhile, his wife loves it. The Princess of Wales explained that she'll 'cook the curry and then add the spice, extra spice at the end'.
Sweat treat
During his Swansea visit, he also told the school children that cookies ‘always go down well’.
But According to Hello!, there is another desert Prince William prefers and it was also a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II: chocolate biscuit cake. Although not any old chocolate biscuit cake. The Prince of Wales has a fondness for his late grandmother’s recipe, so much so that he requested it at his wedding in 2011.
