King Charles’ wedding to Princess Diana may be a Royal Blunder but it gave the UK its next king - Prince William. But what if Princess Diana couldn’t bear a child? Well, that was a medical specification that a Royal author claims the Royal Family checked before the marriage of both Princess Diana and Kate.

Princess Diana and Kate took a fertility test
Hello! Magazine confirmed that the Royal author Tom Quinn claimed in his new book - Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family - that the future queens had to undergo a fertility test. Addressing it as ‘usual precautions,’ Tom believes that Prince William could only marry Kate after her fertility test. He wrote:
These are always carried out to ensure a future queen is able to have children. If Kate had not been fertile, there is little doubt the marriage would have been off.
The claims - that don’t have any solid backing or a source - also stated that Princess Diana went through a similar ‘medical check-up.’ According to Tom, Princess Diana told him about the procedure in a brief encounter:
Diana complained in a brief encounter with the present author that she had in all innocence thought her premarital check-ups had to do with general health, only realising later on that she had actually been tested for fertility.
'I was so innocent I just went along with everything at that stage,' she said.
Meanwhile, he insisted that even though Kate knew what was happening, she has never been known to be a ‘rebel,’ hence things never got out of hand.
