Princess Diana aka the 'people’s Princess' is buried on a small island known as ‘The Oval’ at Althorp Park, Northamptonshire. This is also the home of the Spencer family. According to GoodTo, the area is surrounded by trees planted by Prince William, Prince Harry and even Princess Diana herself.

Hauntingly beautiful
The grave that is situated on an island in the middle of a vast lake was not always meant to be Princess Diana’s resting place. The original plan was to bury the Princess at the nearby Great Brington church, where several members of the Spencer family – including Princess Diana’s father – are buried. However, the family was concerned about the safety and security of her grave.
As such, she was buried in her childhood home. The Coast reported that almost eight years ago Princess Diana's former chef spoke about his disgust over the ‘overgrown mess’ of the Princess’ grave.
However, after Spencer’s family garden had its first revamp in 350 years and received a multi-million-dollar facelift, Princess Diana’s grave now looks ‘hauntingly beautiful.’ The Earl shared two photographs of his property – one of the exterior drenched in an eerie mist and another of the foggy lake and island where Princess Diana has been buried – much to the delight of Royal fans.
The shared picture has been a hit amongst Royal fans. One of them branded the photo:
Hauntingly beautiful, poignantly sad!
Another added:
The lake photo looks like a painting. So beautiful in the mist, holding its secret beauty for another day.
While a third said:
Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures, there’s no better place For Princess Diana.

Princess Diana’s burial ground
According to Hello! magazine, people cannot access the island to pay their respects to Princess Diana. However, there’s a dedicated temple on-site where Earl Charles Spencer lets people leave their floral tributes.
The Earl previously confirmed that the temple was ‘originally commissioned by our ancestor George John Spencer,’ which is now dedicated to his late sister’s memory.
