After Princess Eugenie shared a picture of her growing family, many have taken to Twitter to point out the resemblance between her two children and Prince Harry's two.

Princess Eugenie's children look like Prince Harry's children

It is quite common for family members to look like one another. This is usually between close family members such as parents with children or between siblings. Having cousins that look similar is not talked about as much as siblings, but that doesn't mean that is not uncommon.

Indeed Princess Eugenie's eldest son, August, shares a remarkable resemblance with Prince Harry's eldest, Prince Archie.

Others have pointed out that the latest addition to the Royal Family, Ernest, looks remarkably like Lilibet when she was born. It would seem like the genes between Eugenie and Harry are very strong.

Some are questioning the resemblance

As with any Royal Family news, some people like to put a dampener on the mood. Indeed some have pointed out that it is 'unusual' for second cousins to have such a resemblance.

In the Tweet above, some commented saying that Princess Eugenie was a donor for her cousin, while others suggest that Prince Harry and Meghan used a surrogate:

You just noticed this? I saw how much August looks like the one photo of Lili immediately. If they used a surrogate it’s possible both those kids have Harry’s genes.
I’ve read Eugenia’s a donor.

Naturally, these claims have no proof and are just rumours.

As mentioned before, it isn't unheard of that cousins can look like siblings when in the baby and toddler stages. Moreover, the resemblance between these cousins have a lot to do with the fact that they all have the infamous 'ginger gene' that many royals inherited—including Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, and Princess Beatrice.

The 'ginger gene' is also very present in Princess Diana's family, as all her siblings have red hair. Prince Harry once said:

The Spencer gene is very, very strong.
I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there's no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes, but I was wrong!
