A healthy baby boy
Princess Eugenie gave birth to her baby boy on Tuesday and is now 11th in line to the throne nudging Prince Edward down to the 12th.
So far, the name of Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank's newborn has not been revealed.
Refused royal roles following the departure of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Last year, Princess Eugenie and her sister, Beatrice–both heavily involved in their respective professional careers–were asked to take on additional duties following the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from frontline royal life but both sisters reportedly declined.
In light of the Epstein scandal surrounding their father, Prince Andrew, Eugenie and Beatrice made the decision to separate their private family lives from the public eye to avoid further potential scrutiny.
A source close to the family said:
Eugenie is adamant that she wants to keep her child out of the limelight as much as possible. Yes, she will still work with charities that are close to her heart, like the Scoliosis Association, but she won't be taking over patronages left over by Harry and Meghan, and she won't be standing in for them at public events.
And added:
It's a very difficult situation and the girls will continue to support the charities that are close to their hearts and do an incredible amount of work for them, but that will be the extent of it.
