Queen Camilla awarded a medal
Queen Camilla was awarded the Canadian Forces’ Decoration during a reception at Buckingham Palace. The medal was presented to her by Brigadier-General Dwayne Parson on Wednesday, Feb 1.
The reception was for Queen Camilla’s 12 years of service as the colonel-in-chief. The award is usually presented to Canadian Armed Forces who have been in service for 12 years.
However, fans noticed that there was a small mistake on the Queen’s medal…
Queen Camilla’s title is wrong
As the photos of the event were shared, eagle-eyed fans spotted a mistake that is so small you really have to look at the photo and zoom in to see it.
Indeed on the bottom of the medal, the words ‘The Duchess of Cornwall’ are engraved. The error is that Queen Camilla is no longer the Duchess of Cornwall, that title was passed down to Princess Kate when King Charles ascended the throne in September 2022.
This led many to believe that the medal was prepared before Queen Elizabeth’s passing.
