A frienship between dog-lovers
Later in his career, Paul O' Grady spoke about his love for dogs, and even hosted shows where he could put his passion to use. It is thanks to this shared passion that the presenter and Queen Camilla became close friends over the years.
The Queen is the patron of the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and she appeared on Paul O' Grady's television program For The Love of Dogs, during which viewers got to see her interact with her own dog, Beth.
When asked about his friendship with the Queen, Paul O' Grady said:
Camilla's a really funny woman — you can have a great laugh with her and you don't feel like you're on ceremony. I always get a big hug and kiss from her, too, which always shocks everybody.
The Queen has said she is 'deeply saddened' by the death of her friend.
Paul O' Grady also called her a 'lovely lady who's passionate about dogs'.
