The Queen of Britain, Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 on 8 September, thrusting the nation into a period of collective mourning. Countless political leaders have expressed their condolences.

Throughout this year and specifically over the past few months, there have been speculations about her health as she was unable to attend certain Royal events. In April, a Royal source spoke to Express noting that the Queen would be accompanied by a Royal family member due to mobility issues.
A Royal unlike any other
Born in 1926 and coming to the throne in 1952, Her reign at the peak of the monarchy spanned over seven decades, establishing her as the longest-serving monarch. She has quite literally witnessed historical and generational shifts throughout her entire life.
Within the UK, the Queen has seen 14 Prime Ministers come and go throughout her reign. Shortly before her passing, she appointed Liz Truss as the new PM of the nation.
BBC reports that Elizabeth II may be the last Royal icon to exist, noting that she's one of the few people on the planet that nearly everyone knows, but so little is actually known about her. That being said, there is quite a lot that one can learn from her seven-decade reign.
