Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on 4 June 2021 at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Emergency in Santa Barbara, California. And unlike her brother, who was born in the UK, Lilibet has yet to traverse the ocean and meet her father’s side of the family. The first royal to meet her will be…
Despite the rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal clan, sources have disclosed that Lilibet’s parents may want to bring her back to the UK to get her christened in Windsor. A source told The Mirror:
Harry told several people that they want to have Lili christened at Windsor, just like her brother.
They are happy to wait until circumstances allow.
Whether or not the christening will take place in Windsor is still uncertain, but if the whole family does make a comeback, they will allegedly be heading straight for Frogmore cottage—the residence of Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbane.
In February, Princess Eugenie became a first-time mother herself with the birth of her son, August. So the very first royals Lilibet will lay her eyes on may very well be her aunt Eugenie and cousin August.
Supportive cousin
This may come as a surprise to many royal family followers, but it is actually quite a logical possibility. Princess Eugenie has reportedly been extending support to her cousin’s family in California in the past couple of months. When Lili was born, she even sent her best wishes through Instagram, writing:
Congratulations dear cousins. We couldn't be happier for you.
Sources have revealed that another family member who is also excited about seeing the new baby is Prince Charles. They told US Weekly:
