'Adjustments had been made'
Her Majesty wore a bright pink jacket and white floral dress with white gloves and a pearl necklace. She beamed as she was driven around the gardens and exhibits in a white buggy the day before it opened to the public.
In a statement to the BBC, Buckingham Palace said the Monarch's attendance at the annual flower show was possible after 'adjustments [had] been made for the Queen’s comfort.'
According to the BBC, the last time the Queen used a buggy was in 2013 for an event in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. The Royal Horticultural Society's showcase was the first official outing for the Queen's new luxury six-seater golf buggy.
A £62,000 luxury golf buggy, 'the Queen Mobile'
The buggy appears to have been made by Danish company Garia and was apparently purchased for the Royal Household earlier this year for £62,000, according to The Sun. The electric buggy boasts all-weather covers, a fridge, and a 10-inch tablet-style infotainment screen.
Dubbed 'the Queen Mobile' by The Sun, the buggy has a top speed of 43mph and a range of 50 miles before its lithium battery needs recharging. It also features headlights, 14-inch alloy wheels, a lockable boot, a heated windscreen, as well as cup holders, drive-mode selection, and Bluetooth speakers.
This year’s Chelsea Flower Show includes a Platinum Jubileefloral tribute to the Queen’s 70-year reign.
