Was it just a coincidence? Possibly a misunderstanding? Or could it be a hidden (but not so subtle) jab directed towards his wife? One thing is for sure: Prince Harry definitely noticed that his Meghan Markle was oddly missing from all the photos posted by members of the royal family wishing him a happy birthday on September 15.

All of the photos posted on Twitter and Instagram date to 2017 or earlier. While Meghan and Harry went public with their relationship at the tail end of 2016, their first public appearance together wasn't until September 2017 at the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada. Whether or not this was an intentional oversight on behalf of Harry's family is yet to be seen, however, it seems far too calculated to be coincidental.
While the couple may have officially stepped away from their royal duties months ago, it seems as though there's no shortage of drama coming out of the situation. According to journalist Amanda Platell from the Daily Mail - a publication that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially cut all ties to - Harry is must likely upset over this 'clumsy oversight':
Despite Palace protocol dictating that spouses are not included in pictures celebrating royal birthdays, it must have hurt Prince Harry deeply to see that the images released by his grandmother, father and brother to celebrate his 36th birthday all excluded his wife Megs.
Not only did certain members of the royal family not include Meghan Markle in their photos wishing Prince Harry a happy birthday, the official account for the Cambridges included not only Prince William but Kate Middleton as well, seemingly disproving the theory that they were merely following Palace protocol.
For all we know, it could be an innocent decision made by each member of the royal family. However, some on Twitter were quick to jump on the theory that the rest of his family are trying to deliver him a message via their choice of photos.
