Private tea
The couple reportedly stayed at her premises for almost an hour, and while most of the contents of their conversation are unknown, Biden has given reporters a few details to hold on to. He said:
She's extremely gracious, that's not surprising, but we had a great talk. She wanted to know what the two leaders that I. . . the one I'm about to meet with, Mr Putin, and she wanted to know about Xi Jinping, and we had a long talk.
78-year-old Biden also went on to add that her majesty, who is 95, reminded him of his own mother. He added:
I don’t think she’d be insulted, but she reminded me of my mother. In terms of the look of her and just the generosity.
Biden also revealed the Queen’s intrigue on life in the White House. He continued:
She said, 'What's it like in the White House?' I said, 'Well it's magnificent but it's a lot of people.'
Attending mass
Along with visiting the Queen, one of the very last things the couple did in the UK was also attend morning mass in Sacred Heart and St. Ia Catholic Church in Cornwall. Unfortunately they were 15 minutes late to the service. Parishioner Ann Buckley told The Guardian:
It was an ordinary mass. He didn’t arrive on time. He missed father’s sermon. Father didn’t wait for him. He has another mass in Penzance to get to.
The G7 summit came to a close on Sunday, and Joe Biden has already reached his next European destination—Belgium. Jill is said to be leaving the UK later this evening.
