The Queen beamed as she stood unaided
The Queen beamed as she met Australian politician Margaret Beazley. She stood unaided, without her walking stick, sporting a new haircut and wearing a yellow dress decorated with a blue flower pattern.
The meeting at Windsor Castle yesterday came just days after she missed the Royal Ascot for the first time since her coronation due to ongoing mobility issues. Indeed, the Queen has been forced to cancel several engagements due to her mobility issues. The fact she was able to make multiple engagements yesterday without using her walking stick could mean she is feeling much better.
Will she go to Scotland?
Despite these mobility issues, it’s hoped that the Queen will be able to make her annual trip to Scotland for Holyrood Week, also known as Royal Week, however a decision has not yet been made. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said, as reported by Mail Online:
The Queen hopes to travel to Scotland to be in residence at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for Royal Week, although decisions will be taken closer to the time.
Holyroodhouse is the Queen's official residence in Scotland and is located at the end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile.
Members of the Royal Family, including Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, will travel to Scotland to attend a host of public engagements between June 27 and July 1.
The Queen promised to keep serving as monarch 'to the best of my ability supported by my family' during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
