The couple are parents of Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2, and announced their 3rd pregnancy back in September. The royal baby will be the fifth in line after Prince Charles, William, George, and Charlotte. With her prior pregnancies, Kate suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum which is characterised by severe nausea, weight loss, and vomiting.
Early Monday morning, Kate was admitted at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital with Prince William due to "early stages of labour". Kate is being cared for by obstetrician Guy Thorpe-Beeston and Alan Farthing. There are top medics on standby to take care of Kate during the birthing process. Tradition states that the Queen will be the first to know when Kate has her baby. After, other members of the Royal Family will be notified then the Royal communications team will draft up the official memo and update the media.
The baby boy is here! The Kensington Palace made their official announcement to the public stating 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7 oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well'. On Twitter, the Kensinigton Palace announced 'The Queen, The Duke Of Edinburg, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are deligted with the news'.
