There’s another 2021 royal baby on the way! Buckingham Palace confirmed this morning that Princess Beatrice is expecting her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi later this year. As the grandchild of the Queen’s second-eldest son, Prince Andrew, the baby will be eleventh in line to the throne.

Buckingham Palace’s official statement read:
Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.
Princess Beatrice’s son or daughter will be the fourth of the Queen’s great-grandchildren born in 2021. Beatrice’s younger sister Eugenie welcomed son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank on 9 February whilst Zara Tindall welcomed her third child Lucas Philip on 21 March. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also due to welcome a daughter this summer.
Who is Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi?
Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is a 37-year-old property developer and son of Italian aristocrat and ex-Olympic skier Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi. He and Beatrice met through their parents and are believed to have started dating in October 2018. They got engaged in Italy in September 2019.
The couple got married in July 2020, after ten months of engagement. Their wedding was originally supposed to take place in May 2020 but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Beatrice is stepmother to Edoardo’s five-year-old son Christopher from a previous relationship.
