Kate Middleton seems very settled in her role as a mother. She is already a mother to three children: George, Charlotte and Louis, but the media believes that the Duchess of Cambridge really wants a fourth child.

‘She’d rather be at home with the children’

A source close to the Royal Family opened up about this to the Daily Mail.

‘She loves children and is prepared to put herself through another pregnancy even though they have been complicated by severe morning sickness in the past.’ This is great news for fans of the Crown but would be far from insignificant for her husband Prince William’s reign.

Second in line to the throne, Prince William needs his wife to be by his side. According to Phil Dampier, a Royal correspondent, ‘not only does she love family life in Norfolk, to be honest, it gives her an excuse not to be at the forefront of royal duties for a bit longer, which I don’t think she enjoys.’ He then went on to add that ‘she’d rather be at home with the children.’

Her Royal duties come first

This is a decision that Queen Elizabeth II might not appreciate. If her grandson William ascends to the throne, Kate Middleton will be crowned Queen and as a consequence, she won’t be able to escape her royal obligations.

In addition, it would seem that the Duchess of Cambridge’s desire to have a fourth child isn’t shared by her husband. In fact, during their official visit to Ireland in February, Kate Middleton was questioned on the subject of a fourth pregnancy.

‘I think William would be a little worried.’ It might be complicated for the mother to juggle being a mother to four and her royal duties, although the Queen herself does of course have four children - Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward - so it can be done.
