As she made her first American talk-show appearance in years, the show broke the news on Wednesday, and the entire world waited with eagerness. Choosing Ellen DeGeneres' show and ignoring all the negative stories about her and charges of her show's toxic work culture is a classic Hollywood gesture.
The way she remained low-key shows that she just wants to get as normal as it gets after years of being dragged through the tabloids and British media. As such, when the show revealed the trailer of the episode, it was rather dull. It featured Meghan telling memories about driving a beat-up car to years of auditions on the Warner Bros. property, and how her kids did not enjoy Halloween this year. After years of controversies and headlines, this was her attempt at being a regular philanthropic celebrity.
Happy family life
There were no controversial revelations in her interview. The theme of the show was stories of her and Harry’s adventure as a couple, and her stance on being a parent was the theme. The duchess opened up to the realities of having two children vs one.
Someone told H (Harry) and I that when you have one kid it's a hobby, and two children is parenting.
Suddenly we realised, 'oh right', everyone talks about what it's like for the second child but no one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along. I think they have that moment of, 'oh, this is fun, oh, this is how it is now'.
Further, Meghan revealed that she is happy in California and enjoys being a part of a happy family there.
I love to cook, we'll be (at) home and just relax and sort of settle in. It's our second Thanksgiving home at California, so it will be nice.
