Gary Goldsmith is Carole Middleton’s younger brother, making him Princess Kate’s maternal uncle. He was born in 1965 - his exact date of birth is unknown. After Gary left school, he went to work as an IT operator.
Gary Goldsmith has been married four times. In 1991, Goldsmith married his first wife, Miranda Foote. He then married his second wife, Luan in 1997, and the two share a daughter named Tallulah. The dates of his third and fourth marriages are unclear, his third wife is Julia Leake and his fourth is Julie-Ann.
Gary made his fortune in IT. He joined the IT company Computer Futures and 6 months later, he became the director and owned shares. Then, in 2005, Goldsmith sold his shares in Computer Futures for £17 million and bought a villa in Ibiza.
Gary Goldsmith was charged with assaulting his wife
Back in 2017, Gary Goldsmith was in court, where he plead guilty, after he allegedly assaulted his wife, Julie-Ann after a night out. As per The Sun, the Westminster Police were called at 01:24 a.m. on October 13, 2017, after a report of a domestic incident.
According to reports, Gary and Julie-Ann were returning from a charity event when an argument broke out in a taxi. Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot, who sentenced Goldsmith, said:
Both had been drinking and the taxi driver listened as you argued. Your wife accused you of taking drugs and leaving her alone for most of the evening.
You called her a nothing and whore.
Gary had allegedly knocked his wife to the ground with a ‘left hook’ as per the taxi driver. Kate’s uncle was sentenced to a 12-month community order and was required to attend 20 rehabilitation sessions as he was called a ‘nasty drunk’ whilst in court.
