Amber Gill won all our hearts as a confident, sassy, no-nonsense contestant on Love Island last year. This year, she’s watching the first ever Winter edition of Love Island from the outside and she’s certainly not holding back when it comes to advice – or even warnings for this year’s new Islanders.

Wednesday’s episode saw 25-year-old coffee bean salesman and butler-in-the-buff Connor Durman enraged by Sophie Piper’s reaction to new boys coming into the villa. As Sophie whooped and cheered at the announcement they’d be getting fresh meat coming in, Connor got seriously annoyed – and things only got worse when Sophie was invited on a date by new boy Connagh.
Speaking about Connor’s possessive behaviour, Amber told The Sun: ‘I do think that Sophie needs to be careful. What I saw from Connor was intense. He seemed like a control freak Sophie seems really sweet, so just needs to watch out, as she is a little bit vulnerable. I wouldn't have any of that from him myself.’
Viewers were also quick to slam Connor’s jealous behaviour, with many comparing him to last season’s Islander Joe Garratt, who didn’t cope well when new boy Tommy Fury showed an interest in Lucie Donlan. Joe’s behaviour led to an early exit from the show – is Connor on the path to the same fate?
Meanwhile, Amber also revealed who her favourite new Islander is from this year’s series, saying: ‘I really like Leanne, she reminds me of myself when I was in there. It's so interesting seeing it from the viewers' perspective.’ Could Leanne follow in Amber’s footsteps to become this year’s Love Island winner?
