Love Island, the nation’s most-watched reality TV show, has been slammed repeatedly this year for airing scenes that have appeared distressing to some viewers, resulting in record-breaking Ofcom reports.

One islander who has often been the central cause of distress is 26-year-old air hostess, Amy Hart, who believed she has found love in 23-year-old ballroom dancer, Curtis Pritchard before things between the two rapidly turned sour.
Last night’s episode featured a shock dumping which saw Jourdan and Danny voted out by the public followed by a cliff-hanger. However it has since been revealed that Amy has chosen to end her stay in the Majorcan villa, meaning that Lucie and George were voted out by their fellow islanders.
A source told The Sun, “It was Amy’s decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience”. It has been revealed that her decision to leave was based off needing some space after splitting from her former love interest. She is now taking full advantage of the aftercare package while still in Spain before returning home.
A friend of Amy’s parents have also spoken out to explain that her family often felt uncomfortable at times watching the show. “Any father would find this sort of thing tough to watch while powerless to intervene.”
“He can’t bear to read all the upsetting opinions on the internet about her. He has taken down his Facebook account and now refuses to watch the show.” Scenes on the show also prompted the parents to have “second thoughts” about whether their daughter should have entered the villa.
