Malakai Bayoh wins hearts with BGT performance

‘Angel’ choirboy Malakai Bayoh performed so well that Simon went on to say it was an ‘incredible routine’ as he leaned over to press the Golden Buzzer. Simon Cowell - who is the highest-paid judge on Britain’s Got Talent judges’ panel - sent the choirboy straight to the semi-finals.

Malakai Bayoh's performance at the Royal Opera House

Meanwhile, many fans recognised him from the debut that he made at the Royal Opera House. According to The Mirror, Malakai was there to sing the role of Oberto in the opera Alcina. Additionally, in December last year, his festive performance with Aled Jones went viral.

His performance at the Royal Opera House was mostly well-received; however, one of the audience members booed his performance and called it 'rubbish'.

The Royal Opera House was then forced to ban the member for life. They took to Twitter and wrote:

Unfortunately, the opening night of Alcina featured an audience member who disrupted the show and the excellent performance by young singer Malakai M Bayoh.
We would like to congratulate Malakai M Bayoh for his stellar performance as Oberto in our first night of Alcina. Malakai is astonishingly talented – bringing great acting and beautiful singing to the role – a huge accomplishment for such a young singer.
We are appalled that a member of the audience behaved in this way and our support is with Malakai and the cast and creative team of Alcina. Steps have been taken to ensure the audience member in question does not return to the Royal Opera House.
