Love Island 2019 stars Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury were left heartbroken last week when their Pomeranian puppy Mr Chai died less than a week after they got him. Releasing an emotional video statement to Youtube last Thursday, the reality stars shared the results of a fast-track autopsy which showed Mr Chai’s skull was not fully developed and that he had no white blood cells in his body.

Even before Mr Chai’s death, Tommy and Molly Mae had faced harsh criticism from fans after they revealed that the pup was being imported from Russia. The news of his untimely death only increased the criticism, as many speculated that the conditions of his birth and sale might have contributed to his health problems.
Now, Elena Katerova, owner of Tiffany Puppies, the breeder who sold Mr Chai to Tommy and Molly Mae, has released a statement giving her side of the story, explaining her ‘lack of communication’, saying that ‘Chai's passing has really affected us massively and we just cannot understand why such a healthy beautiful pup passed so suddenly.'
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: ‘Truth being told we are awaiting on full veterinary results and conclusion as we want to understand everything as things are currently not making sense.’ She has also been posting a series of positive reviews from satisfied customers in her Insta story in a bid to defend her reputation as a responsible dog breeder.
Tiffany Puppies is a Cheshire-based business that sells Pomeranian and Chihuahua puppies – both small breeds that are especially popular with Instagram influencers and celebs. They count former Love Islanders Belle Hassan and Laura Anderson as well as TOWIE’s James Locke amongst their celeb clients.
