Dancing On Ice 2021 has just lost yet another contestant. ITV have confirmed that professional skater Hamish Gaman, who was partnered with former Corrie actress Faye Brookes, will no longer be competing. Faye will instead be partnered with Matt Evers, whose previous partner Denise Van Outen had to leave the show due to an injury.

The news came just hours after Hamish had tweeted that doctors had cleared him to return to the ice after injuring his finger. In his social media posts, Hamish had said that he was ‘so grateful and happy’ to be returning to the ice with Faye when the show came back after its hiatus. He hasn’t posted since it was announced he was stepping down.

Meanwhile, Faye took to Instagram last night to announce the news.
Why has Hamish left Dancing On Ice 2021?
According to a source who spoke to The Sun, Faye ‘wants to win at all costs’ and feared she and Hamish would get low marks for their ‘simplistic’ upcoming routine taking Hamish’s injury into account. Shortly after a meeting with producers, it was announced that Hamish was stepping down from the show.
Meanwhile, another ITV source insisted that Hamish had left the show due to his injury. They said:
Hamish was told he could do irreparable damage to himself if he carried on and then fell. His instincts would be to try and catch Faye if she fell but in doing so could limit his skating career in the future.
