Why has Dancing On Ice 2021 been cancelled this week?
The show is expected to return the following weekend on Sunday 28th February, with producers hoping it will allow the remaining celebs time to recover. Rebekah Vardy has complained of groin strain whilst Lady Leshurr has been suffering leg pain. Jason Donovan sat out of the show last week on doctors’ advice due to back pain. A show source told The Sun:
Everyone’s just been working really hard to put on a brilliant series... This break will just allow the cast and crew the time to take a breath. Everyone gives it their all and just wants the show to be amazing for viewers at home so a week to recharge and rest up before coming back will be great.
Who has dropped out of Dancing On Ice 2021?
Actor Joe-Warren Plant and comedian Rufus Hound were both forced to withdraw from the competition after testing positive for COVID, whilst Denise Van Outen left due to a broken shoulder. The Only Way Is Essex star Billie Faiers also had to pull out after sustaining a concussion in a nasty fall in rehearsals.
The remaining contestants are: Lady Leshurr, Sonny Jay, Jason Donovan, Faye Brookes, Rebekah Vardy and Colin Jackson. Each celebrity is allowed to sit out one week due to injury or other unforeseen circumstances. When this happens, they are given a ‘bye’ to the next week. However, if they are unable to perform for a second time, they are forced to withdraw from the competition.
