However, things haven't all gone smoothly for Dani and Sammy either. In February this year, Sammy appeared in court accused of scamming pensioners and a month later he and Dani were said to have split after the case put pressure on their relationship and 'tensions reached boiling point' between them.
However, despite unfollowing Sammy on Insta and deleting all their photos together at the time, Dani now insists that they didn't really split up at all. In a new interview, she told OK! Magazine this week:
We didn’t even really, it wasn’t even a thing. It just got made into a thing.
Whether that’s strictly true or not, their break-up was certainly short-lived as the couple reunited in time to spend lockdown together (which began in the UK at the end of March). Despite their tempestuous relationship, Dani says that spending every minute at home together was a breeze. She said:
We were just at home. It was nice actually because I feel that we are both just so busy doing different things... We’re really good, he’s my friend, he’s like my best mate…so it just works. We really get on he’s so easy. It’s been pretty chilled.
From winning Love Island with another man to weathering a court case in the public eye to getting through a global pandemic, it looks like there really is nothing that can keep these two apart!
