The fifth series of Love Island, the UK’s most-watched reality TV show, has returned to our screens but amidst all the drama evolving within this year’s villa, it appears that last year’s contestants are still comfortable in the spotlight.

Wes Nelson, the 20-year-old nuclear systems design engineer, left the villa last year hand in hand with Megan Barton-Hanson. Eyal Booker, the 23-year-old model, appeared less lucky in love on the series but was recently linked to former islander Kendall Rae-Knight.

A source has revealed to The Sun that X-Factor judge, Simon Cowell, is keen on the idea: “Simon has long-admired Love Island and its pulling power. So when the idea of a Love Island supergroup was raised he thought it was great.”

Furthermore, it’s clear that the pair are enthusiastic regarding the prospect as an insider revealed that the group “have been discussing songs and how they’d approach the show”.

While it’s unclear if Wes Nelson can actually sing, his stint on Dancing On Ice proved he is certainly of showman material. Eyal, however, was actually signed to Seymour Place Music in the band EverYoung in 2012.
