The return of creative baking
On September 13, the 13th instalment of The Great British Bake Offstartedairing on Channel 4 at 8 PM with episodes coming out every week. The rules remain pretty much the same: each of the 12 contestants will battle it out (with dough) to impress returning judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood with their off-beat creations, according to TellyMix.
All the episodes will be available on All4, the network’s streaming platform.
Who is James, the nuclear scientist?
This season, pretty much like all other seasons, has people coming from diverse backgrounds and this year, one contestant that has got everyone talking is James. Because, get this: by profession, James is a nuclear scientist and all of 25 years of age!
James adores autumnal flavours, from mixed spice and apples to caramel. This brainy baker really likes to try out different things all at once.
His inspiration comes from the 70s and 80s, with ‘child-friendly horror’ being his signature style, as reported by Get Surrey UK. James has always been passionate about baking since his tender years and would often end up burning pancakes in his family kitchen. Interestingly, he opted for a career in being a nuclear scientist as he started growing up.
James was born in Scotland and hopes that his knowledge in science will help him have an edge over the 11 other contestants, especially during technical challenges.
This wiz is also a board-game geek and identifies as gay, according to his Instagram name: the_big_gay_baker.
