Love Island voiceover funnyman Iain Stirling has hinted at the next series of the show being filmed in the UK. Whilst there’s no guarantee the show will be back this summer, ITV producers are said to be working hard to make sure it returns to our screens this summer–whether it’s filmed in a Spanish or British villa.

Love Island villa in Bognor Regis?
Although he admitted he didn’t know what the final plans were yet, Iain told Metro:
It could be quite amusing seeing Love Island contestants embracing the beaches of Bognor Regis at some point. When they can't eat their dinner because seagulls are taking it off the plate… it could mix it up.
He continued:
I genuinely thought I’m A Celeb was so brilliant this year, it’s an option. I’m A Celeb did such a good job, man. It was so funny and such a good season. Watching a show like I’m A Celeb makes you really want to be involved again in a show that captures the nation. It’s a talking point, a water cooler moment every morning so I really want to get back.
Love Island series 7 applications open
Despite the uncertainty, ITV producers are pushing forward with plans for the new series. Applications to be a part of the Love Island series 7 cast are currently open until 30th April 2021, which has given fans hope that the new series may be planned for early summer.
However, the form also requires applicants’ passports to be valid until at least February 2022, which suggests producers may be keeping their options open in case the situation requires the show to be pushed back. As Iain Stirling says, none of us has a ‘Covid crystal ball’ so we’ll just have to wait and see…
