I'm A Celeb All Stars: Shaun and Gillian's 10-year-old feud takes an unexpected turn in the jungle

I’m A Celeb All-Star South Africa returned to our TV screens this week. The show started with disturbed relations between Janice Dickinson and Carol Voderman. The usual series and feuds have a lot of drama in general, however, an All-stars version that is pre-recorded is one step ahead when it comes to feuds.

I’m Celeb’s Shaun ‘unimpressed’ with Gillian’s arrival

I’m A Celeb teased that many other stars - apart from the revealed line-up - would be joining the show as it proceeds. In the first week of the show, Gillian McKeith made an entrance as a late contestant. The 63-year-old is a TV Nutritionist who first appeared on the show in 2010 leaving Shaun Ryder less than impressed.

I’m A Celeb posted a video on Instagram where Gillian can be seen happily singing about her arrival in the villa, while Shaun is shaken and ‘unimpressed’ with her entrance. As soon as the video was posted, fans flocked to the comment section and expressed their views on her arrival. One wrote:

He's not the only one unimpressed, she wasn't popular then and don't think it will change now

Another two added:

Oh god really ? Why her

The worst contestant ever! Don’t blame him

A fourth chimed in:

After her arrival, Shaun said in the Bush Telegraph:

Gillian arrived in a box, she should have stayed in a box folks.

He added:

I was very surprised. I probably could have done without it being Gillian, yeah… I’ve been trying to be nice to her. I’m a different person, whatever. I don’t think Gillian was pleased to see me.

The Happy Mondays star and Gillian took part in the show together 10 years ago and made some headlines he branded her a ‘a f**king irritating woman.’ To which a frustrated Gillian replied:

You say nasty things all the time... your tone, everything. The way you speak to everyone.

The pair argued about all sorts of things from swearing to smoking, reported Manchester Evening News. The two, according to Gillian, shared a ‘love-hate’ relationship and she was ‘frightened’ of him at times.

Even in his 2011 autobiography, Shaun claimed that I'm A Celeb's Gillian ‘just had no manners.’ Their feud went as far as Shaun admitting that if Gillian was his wife, he would have killed her. He said:

The thing about Gillian that redeems her is that she has a sense of humour. If Gillian was my wife, she would be in pieces in a plastic bag, deep in a hole in the back garden.

Shaun and Gillian's attempt to resolve issues?

The 60-year-old star previously admitted being around Gillian was like ‘being back at school,’ however, they seemed to have formed an uncanny friendship in the South African jungle. The two were paired to do the first Chest Challenge - Lost Connection - of the series and appeared to be in good spirits.
