ITV have confirmed that John Barrowman will not be returning to the Dancing On Ice judging panel for the upcoming fourteenth series of the show next January. The axing is believed to be linked to Barrowman’s previous inappropriate behaviour, although ITV are continuing to work with him on the upcoming All Star Musicals shows.

John Barrowman axed from Dancing On Ice
An insider told The Sun:
This will be devastating for John. After largely disappearing off our screens following Torchwood and Doctor Who he was brought back from the wilderness on I’m A Celebrity. Landing the judging job on Dancing On Ice, which is one of ITV’s biggest entertainment shows, represented an incredible comeback for him. And he must have thought the allegations were consigned to the past until the Clarke scandal erupted in April. Clearly ITV feel that it’s not a good look to have someone like John taking centre stage on a family-friendly show airing at a teatime on a Sunday.
In May this year, Barrowman apologised for repeatedly exposing himself on TV sets, saying:
With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously. Since my apology in November 2008, my understanding and behaviour have also changed.
Who will replace John Barrowman on Dancing On Ice?
There’s no word yet as to who will take John Barrowman’s place on the Dancing On Ice judging panel. Barrowman replaced former judge Jason Gardiner back in 2020 after appearing as a contestant on the show’s first series in 2006. Fellow judges Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill and Ashley Banjo are expected to return but this is yet to be confirmed.
