ITV2 confirmed earlier this year that 2023 will be the year of two Love Island series. Ahead of the second Winter series of the show, the details about the new South African villa have been revealed.

Here’s what we know
Mailonline revealed that the new series will be filmed in a sprawling mansion set in millionaire’s row in South Africa. The manor is under work currently as the show bosses are prioritising the safety of the Islanders after previous intrusions in the villa.
The supersized villa has a stunning mountain view and is located in a ‘protected area’ in the heart of the Franschhoek wine valley. With 100 per cent off-the-grid status, the luxury eco-retreat is environmentally friendly and generates its own electricity, water and numerous food sources. It is allegedly the biggestvilla yet of all the series so far and costs around £430 per night to stay in per room.
The Tab claims that despite being a new villa, it’s still not far from what we know. Meaning, it still has a gorgeous swimming pool and the iconic fire pit for Islanders to gather around. It has a view of local vineyards, 8 bedrooms, an outside dining area, an open plan dining area and a large kitchen.
New place, new host
Apart from a new villa for the 2023 winter series, the show will also be presented by a new host after Laura Whitmore quit the series in August this year. Maya Jama has been confirmed as her new replacement. The 28-year-old said in a statement:
I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders.
No speculations about the contestants have been made so far. However, it is expected to kick off sometime in January as the Islanders are expected to reach the villa by late December.
