Since the start of the show, two new bombshells have entered the villa - Callum Jones and Molly Smith - and many more are yet to come. The new series saw viewers play matchmakers and pick the first couples of the season.
Jake Cornish quits Love Island All Stars after just three days
The couples picked by the public were - Demi & Chris, Georgia H & Luis, Georgia S & Toby, Hannah & Anton, Kaz & Mitchel and Liberty & Jake. Surprisingly, yeah! Whether the audiences were trying to pull a prank on Jake and Liberty or whether they really wanted the two to rekindle their romance, pairing Liberty with Jake has been all kinds of chaotic for the show.
This comes as the series seven star Jake Cornish has decided to quit the show just three days after it started.
According to The Sun, Jake Cornish walked out of the Love Island All Stars villa late last night. An insider revealed that despite his claims he would be ‘fine’ seeing his ex in the villa, seeing Liberty was a big ‘shock’ for him.
None of them had any idea that the other person would be there. Reportedly seeing her and being paired with her was way more overwhelming for the 26-year-old than he expected as he has left the show. The source said:
Jake had a nice three days in the villa and had a very emotional chat to Maya Jama.
Why did Jake Cornish quit Love Island All-Stars?
Imagine entering the villa and seeing your ex - the last person you’d like to see - in the villa. Jake and Liberty paired on day one of series seven and for most of their time in the villa, they seemed to be the strongest couple, reports Digital Spy. Despite their apparent ‘fairytale’ and overcoming the Casa Amor challenge, Liberty decided to end things as she was ‘giving him the ick over little things.’
The two mutually decided to end things days before the finale, when they could’ve easily won the show. Seeing this history and how the public chose to pair the two, Jake seemed to be ‘not having it at all.’ The source revealed:
It was clear from the start they wouldn't get back together, then none of the girls wanted to step forward for him.
Jake couldn't stay in the villa so he quit the show - it's not his time and it's not the right time to find love.
On 18 January, Daily Mail shared pieces of Jake Cornish's statement in which he addressed his premature exit. He wrote:
After a few amazing days in the villa, I've made the decision to leave 'Love Island: All Stars' as I've realised that now isn't the right time for me to find love as I would never want to force a connection.
In the statement the Love Island star also addressed what it was like seeing his ex Liberty. He assured fans that his willingness to leave didn't necessarily have to do with her and that, actually, seeing her enabled him to 'clear the air'. He added:
I wish her and all of the other Islanders the very best and will be cheering them all on from home.
