Love Island's Harriett Blackmore receives backlash as she's compared to one of the former show 'villains'

Love Island bosses stunned viewers at home last night after they welcomed Joey Essex as the first-ever celeb bombshell in the history of the show. After the official lineup was announced, fans hoped to get better bombshells as they were ‘underwhelmed’ with it. Soon after the lineup was revealed, allegations that Harriet Blackmore had a boyfriend already started to appear.

ITV eventually had to clarify the rumours as displeasure regarding Harriett’s villa stint appeared to grow online. Both ITV and Harriett insisted that she has been single since the start of the year but more accusations about her and her alleged boyfriend kept pouring in.

Amidst this, Harriett has not received the best reception from the viewers. Her voice, in particular, left fans ‘annoyed and irritated’ as they compared her former controversial islander Olivia Hawkins. Talking about her unusual feature, one said:

What’s more? Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that the 24-year-old dancer may have applied for the show while she was still in a relationship.

In her VT video, Harriett revealed that she started applying for the show in January and she has been single for four months. The math didn’t sit right with the viewers! It’s a well-known fact that Love Island's application processing time is around 4-5 months. Adding up the processing time and her timeline of being single, many viewers pointed out that she may have applied for the show while she was still in a relationship.
