With the show more popular than ever, ITV2's aftercare procedures for Love Islanders have come under heavy scrutiny over the last couple of years. Following the tragic deaths of former Islanders Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis, the show promised to introduce new measures to ensure the ongoing well-being of its contestants.

And it seems like they've stayed true to their word. Whilst contestants from earlier series of the show have complained that they didn't receive enough ongoing support after leaving the villa, Molly Mae has described the aftercare as 'brilliant'.
Taking to her YouTube channel this week, Molly Mae said:
I cannot even explain to you how incredible the Love Island welfare team are. Because I had a missed a call from them then I thought I would just talk about it. I cannot fault the team that have constantly, constantly checked up on Tommy and I since coming out of the villa.
She continued:
If they see anything in the press they'll ring us. they see anything going out on social media that they think they want to ring us about they'll ring us. Love Island it's just been announced that it's not going ahead so I reckon they're just ringing us just to see what we think about that. They are so on it with constantly checking up on us. I wouldn't have it any other way they are brilliant.
Molly Mae's comments are a world away from the lack of aftercare previous contestants such as Jess Shears and Malin Andersson have described in the past - so it seems that the show really has made a major effort to improve their ongoing relationship and care for the Islanders in their post-villa lives.
