Maura Higgins, the 28-year-old model from Longford, was set to make a good first impression amongst islanders and viewers, with much of the public seeking more diversity amongst contestants and islanders eagerly awaiting Tommy’s final decision in light of the preceding Lucie vs Molly-Mae drama.

However the resurfacing of an old video has left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans as they question at what age is a person considered responsible for the impact of their offensive words shared online.

Maura Higgins has been reminded by ITV2 producers that this misuse of language will not be tolerated on the show. One ITV spokesman has revealed, “We do not tolerate any offensive language in the villa”.

While one islander, Sherif Lanre, has already been removed from the Love Island villa for “a case of poor judgement”, it is unclear how careful current contestants must now be in order to avoid immediate eviction.

Check out the video to find out what Maura said to concern producers!
