Many EastEnders fans were delighted this week to see Rob Kazinsky make a surprise return as bad boy Sean Slater. He popped up in Monday night’s episode to help mum Jean get rid of Stacey’s shady new wife Eve. But many viewers were left disappointed when the show confirmed it was a one-off appearance.

Rob Kazinsky EastEnders return
In a new interview with the Metro, Rob has shed some light on why he made such a short-lived return. He revealed that he was visiting the UK from his home in LA for the first time in years and suggested to the show's producer Kate Oates that he film an appearance as Sean while he was in the country.
He said:
It was simple really, I live in LA and when conditions allow I’ll try and see my family every year – or more if I can – so I though why wouldn’t Sean do that. Pop in for a cuppa? So I said to Kate, I’m in London for one day, let’s write a scene and I’ll swing by in the morning and we can do it, better than that, every time I’m in the UK, if I can. Let’s do it again and she rallied the troops and made it happen.
Is Sean Slater coming back to EastEnders?
It’s great news for Sean fans as it sounds like he’ll definitely be back again. Praising his EastEnders co-stars Gillian Wright and Lacey Turner who play his on-screen mum Jean and sister Stacey, Rob continued:
...in gratitude for the memories and the love of my friends and the show that means so much to me, maybe Sean will pop in every now and then in future too, maybe just to burn things to the ground once every few years. Ya know, like real families do!
