Strictly Come Dancing 2024 rumoured lineup
While the show won’t air for another few months, the talks of finalising the cast are in play. Not just the professional dancers but also the celebs. Last month, it was revealed that the future of the show was in jeopardy as a senior producer is on maternity leave. Regardless, here’s a list of all the rumoured celebs set to take on the challenge to win the Glitterball trophy.
Hannah Waddingham
The Ted Lasso actress who also co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest last year is understood to have been approached by BBC bosses, reports The Express. According to insiders, the 49-year-old is ‘seriously’ considering the offer as she’s a friend of judge Anton Du Beke and his wife Hannah.
Jill Scott
After winning I’m A Celeb, Jill Scott may be ready to show her talent on the dance floor. She was also rumoured to be on the show in 2023 but didn’t make an appearance.
Gino D'Acampo
This Morning star has been approached by BBC bosses multiple times. Chef Gino’s work commitments have led him to decline in the past, but this could be the year he puts aside his apron for dancing shoes.
Louis Theroux
Documentary maker Louis teased an appearance on the BBC show last year and hinted he could be on the show this year. he confessed:
I know I've had too many drinks when I'm in the kitchen dancing while listening to something on the smart speaker, often hip-hop, and I start doing the funky robot and then I start doing MC Hammer spins. And that's where it happens and I start thinking I should really go on Strictly.
Alan Carr
Funny man Alan has teased he's been asked to take part in the past. Reportedly, he gets asked to do Strictly ‘every year.’
Perri Kiely
The Diversity star expressed he would love to take part in the show. He said:
If it was on a technical level, that would be horrendous, so I'd definitely love to give it a go.
Tom Malone Jr
Gogglebox star Tom left the Channel 4 show in 2021 but has expressed his interest in Strictly. He labelled his professional stint as ‘interesting.’
Tommy Fury
After conquering the boxing ring, the Love Island star - who is also releasing his first book - is expected to take over the dance floor this year. Tommy has become a fan favourite to be on the show.
Michelle Keegan
Following the runaway success of her Netflix hit Fool Me Once, actress Michelle Keegan is yet another fan favourite for this year’s Strictly lineup. Her husband Mark Wright reached the finals in 2014 and hinted at the possibility of Michelle taking a go at it too.
Celebs who could make history
Every year BBC tries to do something extraordinary to make Strictly interesting. Last year, Layton Williams was told ahead of the show that he could wear dresses on the show. This year, the show bosses are trying to do things differently with these two contestants.
Sophie Morgan
Loose Women presenter Sophie Morgan is yet another ITV favourite running in the rumoured line of BBC’sStrictly Come Dancing. Her soaring popularity is expected to amp up the ratings of the show. If Sophie takes part in the show, she could end up being the first contestant in a wheelchair.
Munroe Bergdorf
Model Munroe hopes to become the competition’s first transgender contestant. In the past, she has expressed her interest to be a part of the show.
