Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas hints she may not be a part of the show for long

Strictly Come Dancing is the most iconic dance competition on Telly and being a part of it in any way is a big big milestone. Shirley Ballas - who has been on the show since 2017 when she replaced the late Len Goodman. There were rumours about a raise row between the judges and BBC bosses recently and amidst this, Shirley Ballas has indicated she may not be a part of the show for that long. Here’s what’s happening!

Shirley Ballas throws her future on Strictly in doubt

The 62-year-old Latin Danceroom queen may be prepping to welcome the new roster of celebs for the upcoming series, but her own future on the show is uncertain. According to The Sun, Shirley’s response to her being the head judge on the show hinted that she may be looking to leave soon.

On being asked about her plans for Strictly, she said:

Well, tomorrow's promised to nobody.

So I will take one day at a time, let's let this week and these challenges out of the way first and let's see if we live to tell the tale!

Strictly judges v/s BBC bosses pay-raise row

This comes after the Strictly judges, including Shirley Ballas, wanted an 11 per cent pay raise from BBC bosses for the new series. However, they backed down from their fight after receiving somewhere between 3 to 5 per cent, confirmed The Sun.

A TV insider revealed:

There was a real stand off between the judges and the Beeb on this issue, with neither side willing to budge for weeks.

Thankfully they reached this resolution and are now breathing a sigh of relief and able to look forward to the new series.

The show simply felt that curing a cost of living crisis, and at a time when the licence fee has been frozen, they couldn’t justify an 11 per cent rise.

Could Shirley’s uncertainty stem from the pay-raise row? Only time will tell!
