Katie was rumoured to have had a short fling with Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice back in 2017 after his split from Georgia May Foote but there doesn't seem to be anything between them any more. Katie told The Sun:
Giovanni is a really nice guy but I don’t really know him. We’re on perfectly good terms but Maura has nothing to worry about.
She continued:
I would never get involved with anyone that had a girlfriend. I understand that happens but I’d avoid that like the plague. If someone has a partner, they are completely off-limits. I never want to be that person. The amount of heartache the other person would be going through — it’s just really not nice and I’m not about that.
Giovanni Pernice dating history
Giovanni has a bit of a track record of dating his co-stars and seems particularly susceptible to the infamous 'Strictly curse'. He started dating Corrie star Georgia May Foote after being partnered with her on the 2015 series although they split the following year.
After dating reality star Jess Wright, he got into a relationship with Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts while she was partnered with Pasha Kovalev on Strictly. They split in January 2020 after a year of dating. Earlier this year, he started dating Maura Higgins and the couple seem very much loved up. Will their relationship survive the upcoming series of Strictly?
