Whilst the show couldn’t be filmed abroad as usual, a London-based edition titled Celebrity Ex In The City was filmed before the latest lockdown conditions came into force. And several of our favourite former Islanders are involved for some cringe meetings with their exes.

Megan Barton-Hanson on Celebrity Ex In The City
The premise of the show sees the celebs matched up on a blind date with someone they’ve never met before – only for it to be interrupted by a familiar face from their past. In the first episode of this series, Megan Barton-Hanson’s date with performer Amber was interrupted by her Love Island ex Charlie Brake.
Jess Gale on Celebrity Ex In The City
Episode three (airing 22nd December) will see Winter Love Island star Jess Gale reunited with one of her well-known exes. Jess dated fellow Islander Ched Uzor for a while after leaving the villa at the start of this year, but they officially split during lockdown. Could it be Ched who crashes Jess’ blind date?
Jess told The Mirror that she wasn’t aware her ex would be showing up, saying:
I didn't know the name of the show, I didn't know it was going to be Ex in the City! I had an inkling that exes may be involved and kept pressing my manager for more information. But I didn't know who my ex was going to be and what exactly was going to happen.
She continued:
I was expecting something because you get this notification from the 'Tablet of Terror' and it says there's going to be a surprise and it's weird - you're just sitting there waiting and wondering what's going to happen. Your ex walks in but even then you're think, 'What's going to happen?' It was just so strange and so awkward.
