Sherif's shock exit from the villa just eight days into the competition has already become one of Love Island 2019's biggest talking points. However, the TV channel has remained incredibly tight-lipped regarding the reasons behind the 20-year-old's unplanned departure from the show.

In an official statement from Love Island, it was revealed that: 'After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.'
Simultaneously, an official message from Sherif, released via ITV, stated: 'In a case of poor judgment, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa. I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it's something I know I will take on board and learn from. I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.'
Love Island have also confirmed that whatever Sherif did was not a crime. The Love Island rules include bans on nudity, unprotected intercourse, masturbation and smoking inside the house, pool or garden areas.
One Love Island source has also reported that Sherif was causing problems for producers by refusing to cooperate prior to his exit, saying: 'He’s been refusing to get up and take part in chats with the others and said he didn’t like any of them. When producers told Islanders they have to get ready to film a challenge, Sherif was deliberately spending ages in the shower. He said he couldn’t be bothered.'
According to a TV insider, the show's producers are 'desperate' to keep the reasons behind Sherif's leaving quiet, for fear that it could 'end the show' - which is one of the channel's biggest money spinners - worth a reported £25 million in advertising each year.
